After looking at Peabak's ringus2 base I liked what I saw a lot. The base he presented was extremely compact, making it hard to get off a 50% star yet very good on defense.

However there were a few updates to make.

Probably one of the biggest changes of the past few months has been the addition of the skeleton trap. These have firmly tipped the scales in the defenders favor for late TH9/early TH10 bases especially.

So with these changes people are looking around for the 'best' town hall 10 clan wars base to use. Well look no further.

How to use skeleton traps

Since the Halloween update I've noticed a problem. Little skeletons popping up all over the place and ruining my perfect attacks! It's like SuperCell decided that attacking wasn't hard enough and decided to give everyone an extra witch on defense.

There is nothing more frustrating to have two pekkas about to swing at the town hall suddenly race off to swing at skeletons (costing you the attack). However a lot of people don't use these warriors to their fullest potential.

Life after ringus?

"Life after Ringus? I hope so." So Peabak starts his new youtube video after switching from Ringus10 to his new design, called Rampart Hybrid.  

The new Rampart design looks a lot less hog-phobic but features all three x-bows pointed down, which deals a sick amount of damage.

Is it worth switching over? If I were TH10 I'd definitely give it a try in my war base. I think this design really maximizes the power of the multi-shot inferno tower.

Now that we can build dedicated war bases (thanks Supercell!) besides REALLY wanting an opt out for clan wars we've all started to play around with new base designs. Town Hall inside or outside? Should I just stick all my resources outside and create a giant area of death?

I'm sure that someone will create a really excellent design soon but in the mean time luckily there is already a solution out there that rocks!

Ringus for everyone!

A while back I posted about the best TH9 defense out there, Ringus. I recently switched to ringus and I've been so happy that I did! It's been great clan wars and farming and I'm really excited for the update that allows you to save a dedicated war base. 

I was actually considering staying at TH9 for a long while, just because I loved ringus so much. Then one of my clan mates showed me ringus TH10.

Why most people fail in clan wars

Our clan has been at clan wars for a while now and we're 9-2. Not bad! I've watched probably close to 100 attacks and seen players make the same mistakes over and over:

Level 9 has been a very awkward town hall level. You've got access to some really powerful attacks (see hogs!) and you get xbows, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to stop getting 3-starred by hog attacks.

At the time of this writing, setting up your war base is extremely non-intuitive and generally is a pain. I expect that they'll patch this (eventually) but for now we're stuck with the current system.
